Summer Programs
Summer learning can be fun! This summer FOUNDATIONS will be offering summer programs for students of all ages.
For students 3 – 5 yrs. of age. Great camp for sensory integration! Children will attend a morning camp filled with fun, hands-on activities addressing sensory and academic foundation skills. A variety of multi-sensory techniques will be used to encompass “whole body learning” including tactile, vestibular, proprioceptive, kinesthetic, and oral motor games and play.
Students entering kindergarten this school year will attend a camp emphasizing kindergarten readiness skills. Children will use fun and creative games and activities, to practice the many skills needed for kindergarten. The students start or finish with lunch to work on independence with lunch items to help with the transition to the cafeteria. Occupational Therapists, Kindergarten and Pre-K teachers have developed this camp to reinforce areas of gross motor, fine motor, sensory motor, cognitive, and pre-writing skill development.
This camp has been moved this year to the end of August to brush up on handwriting as the school year approaches. Writing can often be demanding for many students of all grade levels. Your child will attend a 6-session camp to help make writing an easier and more enjoyable part of school. Emphasis is placed on proper letter formation and sizing, by participating in a variety of sensory-motor and paper/pencil activities, using fun & active methods. Both students and parents will notice the difference!
Class sizes are kept small for quality instruction. Call to reserve a position for your child.
This includes all materials, supplies, workbooks, and a light snack. Please call 716-667-9377 for more information.
The program itself is all based on exploration and learning through cooking. Kids will love to explore the ingredients as they mix them together to make, bake, and eat many wonderful and yummy creations. Time will fly as we sing songs, read stories, and make crafts that are all related to the treat of the day. The kids will have fun developing fine motor, language, thinking and social skills as we make, bake and eat our creations!
Themed food will be served with lunch! (All you need to send is a healthy snack and drink)
Social communication, speech production, language concepts, grammar, and reading readiness skills will be addressed through games, music, art, and movement activities based on favorite children’s books.
